The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the superintendent, the deputy superintendent for operations is responsible for ensuring prison security. So that the inmates are accounted for at all times, a count is taken five times daily. Daily master count forms are created to enumerate inmates in various prison units.
